Positive Behaviour Support is an evidence based approach aimed at creating individualised strategies for people with disabilities with the soul intention to increase the quality of life for the participant. Positive Behaviour Support aims to strengthen the safeguards for people receiving behaviour support and demonstrate a clear commitment to the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices. These Restrictive Practices include seclusion, chemical, mechanical, physical and environmental restraints.
Under the NDIS Commission, behaviour support focuses on person-centered interventions to address the underlying causes of behaviours of concern or challenging behaviours, while safeguarding the dignity and quality of life for people with disabilities who require specialist behaviour support interventions.
Our NDIS approved Behaviour Support Practitioners develop plans to address behaviours of concern which are then uploaded into the NDIS Commission Portal using the providers own behaviour support template, from which reports are made monthly.
